Deep Water Hap is now a bit of a misnomer that has well and truly stuck. These Cichlids are more recently found in shallow sandy open areas in their natural habitat. Due to their relatively peaceful temperament, the Deep Water Hap should be kept with cichlids such as Haps, Aulonocara species, or Synodontis catfish that make great tank mates.
