Stream Bogmoss is known for its leaves with a silvery tint, which creates a striking contrast against the typical green foliage in your aquarium. Under optimal conditions, this plant grows vigorously and requires regular pruning. It is hardy and doesn't have special needs, but make sure to provide sufficient nutrients in the water. Native to wetlands from the Southern USA to South America, it thrives in planted tanks and is easy to grow. For the best results, consider using a CO2 system, provide bright lighting, and use a nutrient-rich substrate.
When planting, space the stems individually to prevent rotting. Planting in clusters can sometimes lead to issues in the substrate.
With its moderate height, Stream Bogmoss is ideal as a midground plant. It won’t overshadow background plants and serves as a good indicator of nutrient levels in the water. If the plant starts losing its color, it may be a sign that you need to replenish the nutrients.
