This species of pufferfish tends to be quite stationary and is more of a solitary ambush predator. These puffers communicate their health through their color. They are best fed frozen of live foods like feeder shrimp. The ideal Aquascape for them is tall plants like Amazon Swords and Jungle Vals placed at the back of the Aquarium, leaving a wide open resting area. just like other smart fish, they seem to be fully aware of what's going on out side of the aquarium.
